Both a stillbirth and the loss of a child are devastating experiences that are unique from one another; because of this, we’ve chosen to address them separately.
A stillbirth is a deeply painful and unexpected loss that comes with profound grief. In our therapy sessions at our Lower Manhattan offices, as well as our online therapy sessions, we talk with patients about how grief is a complex emotion that is further complicated by its existence in the context of a busy life—one that may also include physically healing after a stillbirth or continuing to care for other children during this loss.
