I am an NYU-trained therapist who helps adults, teens, couples, and families explore the barriers holding them back and the blind spots they consciously or unconsciously avoid, so they can move toward change. I am a psychotherapist who has helped adults with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship concerns. With further psychoanalytic training from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, I understand how a person’s early experiences can continue to inform their struggles in adulthood. But insight alone doesn’t create action. Many individuals I see recognize the patterns of behavior or relationships that cause their suffering and yet struggle to take the next step. I take an active and empathetic role in building a trusting relationship with individuals, couples, and families so they can make informed decisions toward growth.

Each individual in a couple or family has their own stories and perspectives shaped by the experiences they’ve endured throughout their life. In my therapy with couples and families, I treat each couple and family as a group of individuals, each with their own side to every story or conflict. My goal is not to collude with families and couples to avoid arguments, but to guide partners and family members to learn how to best work through these struggles in a more understanding, loving, and compassionate way. I take a hands-on approach to encouraging partners or family members to work together to delve into their hopes and fears both as individuals and as a couple or family unit.

Previously treating teens struggling with anxiety, including social anxiety, ADHD, and OCD, I am aware of how adolescence can be one of the most exciting and challenging times in a person’s development, which requires a lot of support. Teens create deep friendships, explore relationships, and navigate wanting to be a separate individual from their parents, all while balancing school, extracurriculars, and college applications. I support teens to build compassion for themselves, their decisions, and their inevitable missteps as they grow. I help teens hold themselves accountable for their actions while avoiding beating themselves up for decisions they may regret, which can fester and cause anxiety, depression, and self-hate. I also collaborate closely with a teen’s parents to provide support for their kid who is in crisis and establish boundaries that may make them feel safer.
