A Stillbirth Is a Deeply Painful Loss

Both a stillbirth and the loss of a child are devastating experiences that are unique from one another; because of this, we’ve chosen to address them separately.

A stillbirth is a deeply painful and unexpected loss that comes with profound grief. In our therapy sessions at our Lower Manhattan offices, as well as our online therapy sessions, we talk with patients about how grief is a complex emotion that is further complicated by its existence in the context of a busy life—one that may also include physically healing after a stillbirth or continuing to care for other children during this loss.

We Talk About the Experience of a Stillbirth If and When You’re Ready

At Tribeca Maternity, we are prepared to process the experience of a stillbirth with you whenever you’re ready to talk about it. We also understand that you may never be ready to go there—and that’s okay. But if you are ready days, months, or years after, we are here to work through your experience, loss, and grief so you’re not alone in it.
