I’m pleased to introduce the newest therapist on staff at Tribeca Therapy–Kate Pazdernik, LCAT. A psychotherapist and licensed and board certified art therapist, Kate has been with the practice since this March. She comes to Tribeca Therapy with ten years of experience providing both talk and creative arts therapy to adults, kids and teens.
Our hiring process is both rigorous and deliberative as we look for therapists with a strong background in a range of proven therapeutic practices. With extensive training and a variety of clinical experience, Kate has worked in diverse settings throughout New York City, including, most recently, serving as an Artist In Residence at The Creative Center where she provided art-making opportunities to patients receiving cancer treatment.
Not only concerned with credentials, we also look for therapists who are eager to both learn and help shape our group practice. In this respect, Kate brings a creative, non-formulaic approach to therapy. As an artist herself, Kate draws on her own personal connection and knowledge of creativity, understanding art-making as an essential tool while not solely limiting her practice to art therapy. Bringing a sense of play into the therapy room–and the practice in general, we look forward to the fresh methods Kate will use to help patients get unstuck and understand and solve problems.
